"feel too contorted" is a 60"x 48" original acrylic painting on a custom built + stretched canvas.

Part of the "Feel" series, this piece explores the ways that women contort themselves physically, emotionally, psychologically, etc. to make others comfortable.  Women are expected to wear five inch heels that make their ankles bleed, smile and say "thank you" when a man makes an inappropriate comment about their legs, and "suck it up" and be the peacemaker in family arguments where their beliefs and emotions are compromised.
